Our initiatives
Everyone should have a place they can call home. Roofing is what Uganda Baati does — so shelter is where the Foundation can do the most with what it has.
A leaking roof is a health problem, a schooling problem and a water problem all at once. Every roof the Foundation donates is specified for rainwater harvesting and, where it helps, solar water heating — so the same sheets that keep the rain out also bring water in and cut power bills.

A dilapidated, leaking shelter for abandoned children transformed with a new Uganda Baati roof. The roof enables rainwater harvesting — drastically reducing water bills — and supports solar water heaters so the children get warm baths while the home cuts electricity costs.
